The Mathematical Sciences Department at Bentley University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position beginning the in the fall semester of 2021 to teach data science, data mining, statistics, or applied mathematics. Ideal candidates will have an excellent record of accomplishment in teaching and expertise in at least one of the areas mentioned, with the flexibility to teach a variety of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The teaching load is four courses (12 credit hours) per semester.

The Mathematical Sciences Department offers courses that provide the quantitative, analytical and technical skills Bentley students need for in-demand business careers. The department has successful degree programs in Data Analytics, Actuarial Science, and Mathematical Sciences. Data Analytics is a new and fast growing major that includes courses in statistics, programming, modeling, and data mining. In Actuarial Science, Bentley offers specialized courses to help students prepare for professional exams administered by the Society of Actuaries (FM, P, IFM and LTAM). The department also offers a variety of applied mathematics courses.

Minimum Qualifications: PhD in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field Must be familiar with Blackboard and Zoom or have a willingness to learn. Bentley University makes training available for both platforms.

Preferred Qualifications: Some college teaching experience strongly preferred
